Each of the Parties acknowledges and agrees that in entering into the Contract it does not rely on, and shall have no remedy in respect of, any statement, representation, warranty or understanding (whether negligently made or not) of any person (whether party to this agreement or not) other than as expressly set out in the Contract.

18.7    The Contract shall be governed under English law and the Parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.

18.8    Without prejudice to clause 18.7, if you are a consumer (i.e. you are not (i) an organisation; or (ii) an individual acting wholly or mainly within your trade, business craft or profession) located in the European Union and a dispute arises between you and OUP, we strongly encourage you to get in touch with us directly first to seek a resolution by contacting This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. If the dispute cannot be resolved between you and OUP, we will consider your reasonable request to resolve the dispute through an alternative dispute resolution process (“ADR”). ADR is a process where an independent body considers the facts of a dispute and seeks to resolve it, without having to go to court. If we agree to using an ADR process, you can submit your complaint to the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution via its website http://www.cedr.com/ or http://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/. You should not submit your complaint until you have received notice from us in writing (and this could be an email) that we have agreed to resolve your complaint via ADR.
